Advit Nath is the Director and Financial Controller of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), overseeing $11 billion in assets for the world’s niche IFI laser focused on food security and poverty in developing countries. With over 25 years of leadership experience,
Advit has spearheaded major financial and technology initiatives across Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), advancing innovative digital agriculture solutions to enhance transparency and impact in the flow of funds and agricultural goods to millions of smallholder farmers globally. Advit’s diverse public service experience spans leadership roles with the Governments of Canada and Australia, and international organizations such as UNDP, UNFPA, and UNESCO. He holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights Law (LL.M), is a Canadian Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), with advanced education in Development Law and
International Dispute Resolution from the UK. Beyond his professional work, Advit is a Board Director for the global NGO TREES for the Future, an Ambassador for the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC), and serves on the advisory body of the International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA). He is also a member of the IFRS Sustainability Standards Board’s expert group, shaping global sustainability reporting standards. Advit writes for Coindesk and the Journal of Law and Rural Development, contributing thought leadership on human rights and development issues. He is a recognized thought leader in the field, hosting his own podcast, and has been a speaker at global forums such as the World Economic Forum at Davos. He also guest lectures at Italy's
prestigious Bocconi University.
