The Future of Blockchain Education at the CHAISE Final Event

Darmstadt, Germany – 24 May, 2024 – On 22 May, 2024, an exclusive presentation and roundtable discussion focusing on the future of blockchain education took place at the CHAISE final event, as a part of Blockchain Horizons: INATBA’s Academic and R&D Forum, held at Darmstadtium in Darmstadt, Germany. This event marked the culmination of the 4-year EU-funded project, CHAISE: Blockchain Skills for Europe.

Hosted in partnership by the International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA) and the CHAISE Consortium, the event gathered thought leaders, industry experts, academics, and policymakers to engage in a dynamic discussion on the outcomes and future plans of the CHAISE project. The various Consortium partners presented the key outcomes of the CHAISE project, which include:

  1. Study on the labour market and skills needs in the blockchain sector 
  2. A forecasting mechanism to anticipate future blockchain skills needs 
  3. A European blockchain skills strategy 
  4. A free Massive open online course (MOOC) 
  5. A Blockchain Specialist occupation card
  6. A Statement of Support for the recognition of occupational requirements 
  7. A blueprint of a blockchain specialist qualification 
  8. A blockchain skills certificate supplement
  9. Mobility support for blockchain students and professionals
  10. A blueprint for the creation of national blockchain scholarship and traineeship programs
  11. National action plans for blockchain
  12. Alliance Partnership


The event facilitated valuable exchanges that will inform the development of national curricula, education strategies, and training plans related to blockchain and distributed ledger technologies. The event highlighted the project’s objectives of cooperation, facilitation of skills intelligence and training, skills recognition, mobility support, and above all ensuring the accessibility of blockchain education to all.
