Blockchain Chronicles: Safeguarding Cultural Heritage & Tokenizing Tradition

This panel discussion invites cultural experts, technologists, and innovators to engage in a thought-provoking dialogue on how blockchain technology is reshaping the preservation and management of our shared cultural heritage. The discussion will explore key aspects such as digital provenance, intellectual property rights, cultural asset tokenization, and shed light on exemplary public sector initiatives that are harnessing blockchain’s potential. Panellists will share insights into real-world applications, highlighting use-cases where blockchain has been pivotal in safeguarding invaluable artifacts and historical narratives.

In addition the session aims to examine the challenges of protecting the rights of creators and cultural custodians in the digital realm, looking at the rise of cultural asset tokenization and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs); and how blockchain can be leveraged to unlock new avenues for ownership and engagement.

Ultimately the session aims to inspire collaborations that lead to a more inclusive, transparent, and enriched cultural landscape for generations to come; while providing concrete examples of how blockchain technology has the potential to redefine the way we perceive, protect, and share our cultural heritage.
