Brenton Naicker is a Fintech professional with vast experience and qualifications within the Cryptoasset and Blockchain space. Before joining CV VC he spent two years as the Head of Business Development & Partnerships for Binance in Africa, playing an instrumental role in their growth and dominance across the African continent.
Prior to this he founded a boutique Cryptoasset consultancy and co-founded a fintech venture consulting and advisory firm, both of which are still very active. He has been frequently featured in media as a subject matter expert in the space, and formed part of the initial IFWG stakeholder group in South Africa – assisting the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), regulatory bodies and financial institutions understand and regulate the nascent digital asset space.
His constant thirst for knowledge keeps him at the forefront of innovation, having completed programs and courses from Stanford Online, Oxford’s Said Business School and MIT Innovation leadership bootcamp’s to name a few.

Blockchain Start-Ups, Innovation Hubs and SMMEs in Africa
This is the 2nd workshop in the series organised by the Governmental Advisory Body of INATBA and its workstream on Blockchain Policies & Innovation Ecosystems, which seeks to identify the needs of policymakers (with a focus on the African region) in the development of national blockchain policies that provides an enabling environment for the growth of local innovation ecosystems while providing an appropriate regulatory framework that provides protection to citizens in terms of data protection and privacy. This workshop is focused on blockchain start-ups, innovation hubs and SMMEs in Africa. The idea is to look at the landscape of start-ups, innovation hub and SMMEs, their establishment, growth, and areas of work in Africa.
